Key Requirement
Bluetech needed an information system that would effectively support its growth and production management. Therefore, it was looking for a solution that was flexible and scalable enough to handle the growing number of orders and adapt to complex projects such as sorting lines. Accurate financial calculations and optimization of production processes based on historical data were a priority to minimize errors and improve planning. It was also essential to implement an effective cost control system that would provide better visibility of finances and help reduce costs. Meeting deadlines, especially for large orders, is essential for the company. As was simplifying documentation management with a tool that would automate the handling of production materials and streamline document management.
Solutions
In 2009, Bluetech implemented Infor VISUAL to streamline production management. This system was tailored to the company's specific needs through more than 200 customizations reflecting unique manufacturing processes. Thanks to two major upgrades, the system gained increased performance, stability and compatibility with modern technologies. The automation of documentation management, realized through the implementation of the "Work with Documentation" module, enabled the automatic generation and organization of files, reducing the administrative burden.
To improve financial management, the "Cash Flow Forecast" tool was developed, linking financial data with orders and payment schedules, which facilitated the monitoring of cash flows. Integration with Siemens' Teamcenter PLM system is currently underway to improve the management of production data and its integration with the ERP. The system is continuously developed and adapted to the changing needs of the company so that it continues to provide maximum efficiency and support its growth.
Result
Supported by the Infor VISUAL business information system, which Bluetech has customised to suit its needs, the company manages to deliver on time and meet agreed contractual deadlines to its customers, especially for large sorting line orders. Thanks to financial analyses of the order history, it has been able to refine costings, optimise production and achieve greater competitiveness for large orders. By implementing rigorous controlling, the company achieved significant cost savings.
An interesting solution is the newly created task "Work with documentation", which facilitates users' work with production documentation. According to predefined parameters, the task creates a directory structure for storing documents and subsequent work with them. Another task "Cash flow forecast" provides support for users of the company's financial department in processing cash flow forecast and monitoring its development in the future. It draws data directly from sales orders, which include payment schedules for individual orders that fulfill the cash flow forecast in the form of planned invoices.
After several successful upgrades, Bluetech is currently using Infor VISUAL version 9 and is further developing its information system in collaboration with Seyfor consultants and developers.
